Land van Thorn Golf Club
The golf course is just a stone’s throw from Thorn, a white-walled town with a rich history tied to the Abbey. Ladies of the highest European nobility once held their principality there. The former abbey church, which was damaged during the French invasion and restored by the renowned architect Pierre Cuypers (who also designed the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam), is certainly worth a visit, especially for its tombs.
The Designer Outlet Roermond is less than a half-hour drive away. Major fashion brands are represented there, and visitors from all over the world come to experience this unique shopping concept. German and English are also spoken in the stores. Fashion brands that are well-known in Asia employ Chinese staff members.
